A Note from Holly Shaw

I have written and edited dozens and dozens. . . maybe even over a hundred artists' bios. Since founding my non-profit, The Eve's Elixir project, I've spent many years producing showcase types of shows as well as interviewing artists for my Performers & Creators Lab podcast. And the thing I find across the board is that most artists hate writing their bio. I know, because as a producer I ask for it several times before finally giving up, going to their website to grab what they have and inevitably re-writing their bio for them.

Don't be one of those artists that doesn't deliver your bio!

People want to promote you, but they need the tools to do it. That's why writing your bio is so important.

Your bio is often the first point of contact someone has for you. Even if they see a video or a performance first, you bio is still that first point where they get to find out "where did this incredible artist come from??!!" So, your biography is as vitally important as a handshake - you want it to be strong, yet warm. Genuine, but impressive.

Too many artists use their biographies as a record of history. They bombard the reader with a documentation of every single achievement and training. Or they use their biography as an awkward advertisement – touting large and unspecified accomplishments. The artist's bio, for whatever audience, exists for one purpose only and that is to position the artist and make them seem like “'Da Bomb” (ie. someone you want to follow) using only carefully chosen facts and specifics.

So enroll now to start crafting your own "You Are 'Da Bomb!" Bio because I know that you are. You are "the bomb!" Whether you are just starting out or have been doing this a long time, there is a way to put together the facts of your accomplishments to make you sound great, I promise you. And in this course, I'll show you how.

This course is a one-time investment that will help guide you to write appropriate and outstanding bios for every occasion for the rest of your career!
